The People You Will See
Dr. Cody Sandzimier, D.C.
Dr. Cody Sandzimier has been practicing for years and has been fortunate to have been a part of multiple clinics all along the west coast of the country. He is originally from California and has lived in the PNW since 2014. In a former life, he was a professional baseball player. He played for several years as a catcher and has been able to carry over a lot of what he learned in his life as an athlete, into his current life as a doctor. He played professionally until 2009 and after his second shoulder surgery in two years, he decided to move on from baseball and chose to take the easy route and become a doctor.
In clinic, Dr. Cody has a unique ability to make people feel comfortable and welcome, very quickly. Also, he loves problem-solving skills and takes pride in his knowledge of the body, how it responds, and how to get it to cooperate. Here’s what doc has to say in his own words:
“I consider myself very lucky to get to do what I do every day. I don’t really work. I get to hang out with cool people all day long and make them feel better. I don’t feel like I chose this profession, I feel like it chose me. What this has created is this obsession and drive to constantly improve my skills, communication, and technique. I’m very grateful for my life and to be a part of this team. This is all I do, all I think about, and it is what I have dedicated my life to. I look forward to being able to make an impact and to bring my background and experience to help take care of the people of Tacoma.”
My name is Alexsaya but I go by Alex since no one can say it. I went to Eastern Oregon University to study Pre-Nursing and moved in my last year of prerequisites to plan my wedding, I plan to finish school later down the road but right now I am loving being a new wife and mom. My husband (Tyquan) and I, are middle school sweethearts, while planning my wedding we found out I was pregnant and had our daughter Lailianna 2 months after our wedding. Being a mom is the best thing I think I've done so far, I can't imagine life without her now, she gives me a new type of motivation and drive. We also have two dogs Kratos (black lab mixed german short hair pointer) and Gaia (Pit). A little after my daughter turned 2 months I had to come back to work, I was doing billing at another company and hated being in a cube all day so I started to look for something where I had daily interaction with patients. I came across Fircrest Spine Center and applied. HERE I AM. I can honestly say I LOVE THIS JOB, its not just a job. I learn new things daily from Dr. Cody about the human body as well as learning how to run a business. This is more than just a chiropractic office, for me its a second home and the people here are my second family truly. We all go hand in hand. I hope to stay with this company and continue to help this office grow into something BIG.
Hi! My name is Kaelin. I just recently graduated from Boise State with my BS in Health Science and a minor in Psychology. I moved back to WA to be with my family. My long term goal is to be an Athletic Trainer, but I want to continue to grow and learn multiple disciplines that can help me with my career down the road. My dog Tucker, is my very best friend. I have a big heart for all dogs; we have 6 at home ranging from all breeds and sizes. I am the second oldest of 5 sisters. I played sports throughout my life and have always loved being involved in health and fitness, and the human body amazes me. I have worked as a Sports Lead at multiple Boys & Girls clubs in Washington and Idaho, then I worked as a Physical Therapy Aid for a little while before I joined the growth focused and family culture that is here at Fircrest Spine Center. I have a passion for encouraging myself and others to live a balanced and positive life and to help them believe in the endless possibilities they can achieve. Dr. Cody makes the environment at work, not feel like work, and helps encourage me to continue to learn new things every day. My fellow coworkers and Dr. Cody have grown into family to me. The patients that we work with emphasize why I love doing what I do. I am thrilled to be here at Fircrest Spine Center and hope to continue to help the community around us while also building a business and creating relationships all around.
Hello I am Paloma! I went to school at Ashmead College School of Massage. I have been practicing for over 11 years now. Throughout the years I have worked at several Massage Envy clinics as well as several Chiropractic offices. I love to mix relaxation and treatment techniques so patients receive the best of both worlds. Since working at Fircrest Spine Center, I have really been able to fine-tune my neck work. I really enjoy working with patients that really want to find out where their pain is coming from and fixing the problem at its source!
