The People You Will See

Michael Chan Family.jpg

Dr. Michael W. Chan, D.C.

Dr. Mike grew up in the Puget Sound.  He graduated from Kentridge High School and attended the University of Washington.  He then followed in the footsteps of his father, Austen Chan, PhD, DC, and attended Palmer Chiropractic College West, graduating in 1999.  He has since been happily running his clinics.

In addition to his chiropractic practice, Dr. Mike has special training in auto crash reconstruction and injury biomechanics.  This special training allows him to more effectively evaluate and treat those who have been injured in motor vehicle collisions.  With this knowledge, he has also been able to train his associate doctors to look for and treat the same injuries.

A lifelong athlete, Dr. Mike enjoys helping his patients set and achieve goals to being the healthiest version of themselves.

When not working at the clinic or on his house, Dr. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Amanda, and their four boys.

Dr. Will Kornegay, D.C.

I was born in NY and raised in Charlotte NC as the youngest of four siblings. I enjoyed playing and watching sports as a child, namely football and basketball. I played football from Pee Wee league until 8th grade when my mom decided it was a little too reckless (years later thanks mom). Through high-school I did Track and Field for 2 years competing in triple jump and long jump events. For my undergraduate studies I attended and graduated from VSU which is a
Historically Black College in Petersburg, Virginia with a B.S Biology degree.

After graduation, I decided to become a chiropractor because of many of the principals behind it’s practice, and moved to Atlanta, Georgia where I graduated from Life University in 2020. While a student at Life University, I worked in the wellness center, taught daily senior group fitness classes, and also was an intramural referee.

As a Chiropractor I enjoy seeing people go from constant pain that is perceived as normal to being able to increase their bodies ability to function in their heath and wellness journey.

Caitlyn Fukai

Office Manager

Caitlyn is a University Place native but left home to attain her three degrees in viola performance from the University of New Mexico and the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Prior to the pandemic, she was playing frequently with the Indianapolis Symphony and then with Lincoln Center Stage. Caitlyn had been a Fircrest Spine Center patient in the past and was excited at the opportunity to learn more about chiropractic care and working in an office setting. She enjoys meeting and talking with patients and watching the transformations that take place in the clinic with their treatments. Outside of work and practicing, Caitlyn loves spending time with her family and especially her shiba, Nuggy.

Katie Hernandez

Rehab Specialist

Katie is a transplant from the heart of California. She has worked in the medical field since 2009, holding several certificates and a BA. Recently she agreed to join our team and is passionate about the services and care we provide here. A keystone of her passion is the knowledge that each time a patient returns, she gets to see the changes brought by healing. When not working at the office, Katie is actively engaged in sewing historically accurate garments, knitting, cooking and hanging out with her teenage son.

Paloma Zamora

Massage Therapist

Hello I am Paloma! I went to school at Ashmead College School of Massage. I have been practicing for over 11 years now. Throughout the years I have worked at several Massage Envy clinics as well as several Chiropractic offices. I love to mix relaxation and treatment techniques so patients receive the best of both worlds. Since working at Fircrest Spine Center, I have really been able to fine-tune my neck work. I really enjoy working with patients that really want to find out where their pain is coming from and fixing the problem at its source!
